FLP Events: Chinatown Tour

Earlier in October, FLP Reps Yonatan Kogan and Celia Zhang led a tour to Boston’s Chinatown. For the event, they selected a group of eight people who had never been to Chinatown before. Yonatan and Celia brought the group to a dim sum restaurant, where they ordered a wide spread of food and explained each dish as they tried it.

After they introduced the students to dim sum, Yonatan and Celia also took the group to a local Chinese grocery story. Here, everyone picked out something unfamiliar and got to try a new food and learn about it. Additionally, Yonatan and Celia picked out some of their favorite snacks and introduced them to the group, starting discussion about how they were made and the “mouthfeel” associated with them.

When reflecting about the event, Celia said, “The event was very sucessful, and it was a joy to introduce the magic of Chinatown to those who never been. This is why I love FLP–sharing a passion, and getting appreciation in return.”
